Concrete services in Bellevue, NE

Excel Bellevue Concrete Construction offers 16 concrete services in Bellevue, NE, for sinking, cracked or worn-out slabs and for new pours. The price mostly follows size, thickness, base work and finish, and the schedule turns on prep, any permit and curing, the wait before the slab can take weight. You get your own numbers in the estimate I give on site.

  • A smooth gray concrete driveway with straight control joints leads to a black metal gate beside a house and leafy landscaping.

    Concrete driveway building

We tear out the old driveway, pack a solid base and pour a new one sized for your cars and sloped so water runs away from the garage.

  • A pale concrete patio surrounds an empty rectangular pool, with a stone retaining wall, black railings, and a brick house behind it.

    Concrete patio construction

A concrete patio gives you a flat, solid spot for a table, a grill and chairs, and we set it so rain drains toward the yard instead of the house.

  • A tan stamped-concrete patio extends beneath a timber-covered porch beside a brick house.

    Stamped concrete services

Stamped concrete is pressed with patterns and colored while it's still wet, so a patio, walk or pool deck can look like stone, brick or slate without laying each piece.

  • A speckled concrete sidewalk runs between dense green shrubs toward a wooden gate in a concrete wall.

    Concrete sidewalk building

If your front walk has heaved, cracked or become a trip hazard, we pour a new one with joints cut where we want any cracks to form.

  • Concrete patio beneath a covered pergola features a curved stone fire pit and landscaped lawn.

    Garage floor concrete

A cracked, sunken or stained garage floor gets torn out and replaced with a new slab built to carry the weight of cars, tools and storage shelves.

  • Stamped concrete patio with a gray stone pattern beside a blue house, white staircase, and raised deck.

    Decorative concrete

We add color, stain, scored patterns and borders to driveways, patios and walks for homeowners who want concrete that fits the look of the house.

  • Stamped concrete patio with a curved edge has a glossy, irregular stone pattern beside grass.

    Concrete retaining walls

When a slope keeps washing into your yard or driveway, a poured concrete retaining wall holds the soil back and gives you flat, usable ground behind it.

  • Aerial view of a wide concrete driveway curving toward a detached garage, with a patio and lawn nearby.

    Concrete floor installation

We pour interior concrete floors for basements, shops, sheds and commercial spaces, leveled over a packed base so the surface is ready for flooring, equipment or foot traffic.

  • A swimming pool and pale stamped-concrete deck sit beneath a black-framed screened enclosure beside a lake.

    Concrete pool decks

We pour concrete pool decks around new and existing pools with a broom finish, a brushed texture that gives wet feet grip, sloped to drain splash water away.

  • Broad stone steps rise between matching stone retaining walls in a landscaped yard.

    Concrete steps construction

Crumbling or uneven front steps are a fall waiting to happen, so we form and pour new concrete steps with even step heights and solid footings underneath.

  • Aerial view of a large home with a concrete driveway and sidewalk, bordered by landscaped beds and lawn.

    Slab foundation building

We build slab foundations for homes, additions, garages and outbuildings, pouring a reinforced slab over a packed subgrade, the soil and gravel the concrete sits on.

  • Curved stamped-concrete patio beside a house, furnished with wicker seating and chairs.

    Foundation installation

For new homes and additions, we dig, form and pour foundation walls and footings that carry the house above them and give the framers a square, level start.

  • Stamped-concrete patio with wooden chairs arranged around a stone fire pit beside a raised deck.

    Concrete parking lot building

Small business owners call us when an old lot is cracked and pooling water, and we replace it with a concrete lot graded to drain and laid out for traffic.

  • Close view of a broad, light-gray concrete driveway with subtle texture and expansion joints.

    Concrete footings

We dig and pour footings, the wide concrete base that spreads the weight, for walls, decks, porches and additions so what's built on top has firm support.

  • Concrete driveway leading to a brick garage, with smooth sections and landscaped planting beds.

    Foundation raising

If a slab or foundation has sunk and left cracks, gaps or a tilt, we raise it back toward level and support it from below so the surface lines up again.

  • A pale stone-pattern concrete driveway leads to a stone house with a metal roof, bordered by lawns and a black fence.

    Concrete cutting

We saw-cut concrete for new doorways, window wells, plumbing trenches and clean tear-out lines, so the part that stays isn't chipped or cracked by a jackhammer.

Why people hire us for their concrete

  • The owner plans and pours

I give every estimate myself and work the job with a small crew I've trained, so the person who planned your concrete is there for the pour.

  • Questions answered before you sign

We go over the base, thickness, finish and joints with you first, so you know what you're paying for and why.

  • Straight talk about cracks

Concrete cracks. I'll show you where we cut control joints, the shallow grooves that steer cracks into straight lines, instead of promising a perfect slab.

  • Prep that matches the finish

We dig out soft dirt and pack the base before the pour, because a slab settles with whatever's under it, however good the top looks.

  • Water sent away from your house

Before we set forms, we check where water runs on your lot, so the new slab falls away from the house instead of toward it.

  • Permits sorted before we schedule

We find out which city or county office covers your address before we schedule, and if a permit applies, we file it or walk you through it.

If you'd rather talk it through first, call (402) 206-0944 or reach us through the contact page.

Your concrete questions answered

How much does a new concrete driveway cost in Bellevue, NE?

The cost depends mostly on the driveway's size and thickness, how much old concrete and soft dirt has to come out, and the finish you choose. A plain broom finish costs less than stamped or colored concrete, and ground that needs more digging and packing adds to the price. I'll give you your number on site, and the concrete driveway page goes into more detail.

Why are some concrete quotes so much cheaper than others?

The difference is usually in the base, because it's the first thing cut to lower a price and nobody sees it once the slab is poured. A thin, raked-level base often shows up later as sinking and cracks, so ask each contractor how deep they dig and how they pack it.

How long until I can drive on a new concrete driveway?

You'll be back on it on foot well before you can drive on it, because concrete keeps gaining strength for days after the pour. I'll give you the dates for your slab when we pour, and until then it's worth keeping cars, trailers and heavy deliveries off it.

Does a concrete contractor need to be registered in Nebraska?

Yes, contractors and subcontractors doing business in Nebraska have to register with the Nebraska Department of Labor before they start construction work. We're licensed and fully insured, and I'm glad to go over both before you sign anything.

Do you remove the old concrete before pouring a new slab?

Yes, on replacement jobs we break out the old concrete and haul it away before any new work starts. Then we dig out soft soil and pack the base, since pouring new concrete over the old problem usually brings the same cracks back.

Do you guarantee your concrete work?

Our work is satisfaction guaranteed, but I won't promise that concrete will never crack, because no one honestly can. What we do is give it a solid base and cut control joints so that if it cracks, it cracks where we planned.

Does a concrete driveway need rebar?

Many driveways get rebar, the steel bars set inside the slab, because it helps hold the concrete together and level if it cracks. Whether yours needs it depends on the ground, the thickness and what will drive on it, and I'll explain the choice when I give you the estimate.

Do I need a permit for concrete work in Bellevue, NE?

It depends on the job, so we check before we schedule. The city's Permits and Inspections Office issues building permits in Bellevue and within two miles of the city, and it lists replacing a concrete driveway or walk as exempt if it's no larger than before, or not over a basement or story below. Retaining walls up to 4 feet tall, measured from the bottom of the footing, are also exempt unless they hold back extra weight above them, while new foundations and bigger slabs need checking with the city.

How a job goes from call to finished slab

  1. Call or send the form

Call (402) 206-0944 or fill out the contact form with a few lines about the job, like what's there now, roughly how big it is and what's bothering you about it. We get back to you within one business day to set up a time for me to come out.

  2. I visit and give your estimate

I come out myself and walk the site with you. I look at the ground, where the water runs and what's there now, and I ask how you'll use the concrete, since a patio for chairs and a pad for a truck need different prep. You get a free estimate on the spot, with no obligation.

  3. We prep, form and pour

Once you say go, we sort out the permit side first so nothing holds up the work later. Then we dig out and pack the base, set the forms, pour and finish the surface, and cut the joints on time so any cracks have a place to go.

  4. Walk the finished job

When the work's done, I walk the finished job with you and we clean up the site. I'll show you where the joints are, tell you when it's ready for feet and when it's ready for cars, and go over the simple upkeep that helps it last.
