About our concrete contractor company in Bellevue

How I got into concrete

I didn't learn concrete in a classroom. I taught myself by pouring my own walks and pads and reading everything I could find, then learned the rest on other people's job sites, where you see quickly what holds up and what doesn't. In 2023 I started Excel Bellevue Concrete Construction here in Bellevue. Most of our calls come from homeowners in Bellevue and the cities around it, plus a few small business owners who need a lot or a walk redone.

We're best known for driveways, patios and steps where the prep work matches the finish. That matters to me because the base, the packed ground your slab sits on, is covered up by the end of the first day, and it's the first thing people want to cut from the budget. I'd rather put the effort there, since a nice surface over a raked-flat base settles right along with the dirt. And before we start, I want you to understand what you're paying for.

Licensing and insurance

  • Nebraska contractor registration

Nebraska requires contractors and subcontractors doing business in the state to register with the Nebraska Department of Labor before they do any construction work. That applies to concrete work like your driveway or patio, the same as any other building job.

  • Licensed and fully insured

Licensed and fully insured. If you want to see the details, ask when I come out for your estimate.

Serving Bellevue and 11 surrounding cities

What you can expect working with us

  • The person who quotes your job is there for the pour

I come out to look at every job and give the estimate myself, and the work is done by me and a small crew I've trained. So the person who planned your concrete is standing there when it's poured, not hearing about it secondhand.

  • Straight answers about cracks before you sign

Concrete cracks, so instead of promising a perfect slab, I'll show you where the control joints go, the cuts that give a crack a straight, planned place to happen, and what upkeep the slab needs. We take time with your questions before you sign, so you know what you're getting and why.

  • Permits sorted out before we schedule

In Bellevue, the city's permit office issues building permits for work in the city and its two-mile jurisdiction, and some addresses fall under the county instead. We find out which office covers your address and look into the permit side before we schedule, then take care of the application or walk you through it when a permit applies.
